1)
Does Economy Homes & Cottages have locations for me to set up a
home?
Yes, from time to time we have lot's available and we
also have good relationships with all the land lease communities in
our service area who let us know when they have a lot available. Please speak with a Sales Consultant to find
out what is currently available.
2) Are manufactured homes built as well as and
the same as a site-built home?
Manufactured homes built for Alberta are built to the CSA
A-277 which certifies the home is built to the local building codes. In a lot of cases our homes are better
built than a site-built home. (The interiors of our houses never see winter!)
3)Is it possible to get a mortgage for one of
your homes as a site-built home?
Yes, any home, no matter what the method of construction, as
long as the owner also owns the land on which it is placed shouldn't be financed any differently than a home
that is site-built. If the home is being placed on leased land there are many financial institutions that
offer what's called a C.L.I.P. (chattel Loan Insured Program) Mortgage. Usually the rates for a C.L.I.P.
mortgage are similr to those offered otherwise.
4) What is the difference between a Modular
Home and a Manufactured Home?
In Alberta all
Manufactured Homes are built to the Modular Home standard. All Modular homes are manufactured but not all
Manufactured Homes are Modular Homes. In the U.S. and all other provinces, Manufactured
Homes and Modular Homes are built to different CSA standards. This is where it gets confusing; however
in Alberta there
should be no reason to be concerned unless you are looking at homes that are not built
in Alberta. For more
information on this, please contact our office and anyone will be glad to help with this confusing
issue.
5) Can these homes be placed on a
basement?
Yes, our homes can be placed on basements.
6) Do you build Two Story
homes?
Modular Homes can be built in various sizes and shapes and multiple stories are now
achievable too.
7) I have a home to trade, do you take trades?
How does that work?
Yes, we take trades or you can consign your home with us to
sell and we will take care of the sale. We do this by helping the buyer to arrange finance, arrange the mover,
and other aspects of moving and setting up the home.
8) What kind of Warranty do you have once we
buy a home?
Every SRI home features Comprehensive One-Year Warranty, Ten
Year Major Structural Warranty, and Consumer deposit protection of $10,000.
9) How does your homes compare with other
builders?
Our homes are built indoors, out of the wet/snowy weather, so
no mold or damage to building products from exposure. There is consistent supervision by inspectors to ensure
tighter quality control of construction. Production line method of building offers greater efficiency to
production and is more cost effective, saving you money, approximately 30% compared to site built.
10) How far do you deliver, how many Kilometers
are included in delivery?
We generally service Alberta, Saskatchewan, and British
Columbia, however under special circumstances we will deliver to other places. Our prices are based on delivery
within 100 km of Airdrie, AB. Please contact a sales consultant for details on pricing.
11) Once I have ordered my home, how long
before I can move in?
Possession and occupancy may vary depending on the complexity of
the home being produced. In most cases we are able to deliver a home within 6 to 8 weeks from the time
the order is confirmed. However, if you need something quicker we always carry homes in stock ready to
take quick possession.
12) Am I able to customize my floor
plan?
Yes, just about everything in the interior of a home can be
customized.
